Ropes & Gray Lures Kirkland M&A Partner Brueck in New York Push

Ropes & Gray has hired Kirkland & Ellis partner Michael Brueck as the firm expands its New York mergers and acquisitions practice.

Brueck said the firm’s private equity practice was a pull for his work, which often involves private equity and private capital sponsors. The New York office’s growth was also part of the draw, he said in an interview.

“Ropes in New York right now offers a truly unique combination of a growth opportunity, but one that is already within a well-established firm with marquis practices and fantastic partners,” Brueck said.
