Roofr Inc. convinced the Federal Circuit that an administrative tribunal was right to invalidate two patents describing processes of using satellite imagery to obtain roof measurements.
Pictometry International Corp. and its parent company EagleView Technology Corp. sued Roofr in 2021, alleging the roofing software company infringed US Patent Nos. 9,183,538 and 10,648,800. Roofr responded by challenging both at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, which in July 2024 found both to be obvious and therefore invalid.
