Richard Shamos joined Akin as a partner in its investment management practice and funds group in Los Angeles, the firm said.
Shamos advises sponsors building credit-focused fund platforms, including private credit and direct lending vehicles, evergreen and hybrid structures, and insurance-rated note feeders. He also brings experience advising buyout and growth capital sponsors, the firm said.
He joins from Kirkland & Ellis.
