Former Kirkland & Ellis partner Ian Sherwin has joined Reed Smith’s global corporate group as a partner in the New York office.
Sherwin is the second recent addition to the group with a focus on executive compensation and benefits. He represents private and public companies and management teams in all executive compensation-related aspects of mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, reorganizations, financing arrangements, and securities offerings.
Sherwin received a B.S. in business administration from the State University of New York at Buffalo, a J.D. from Maurice A. Dean School of Law at Hofstra University, and an LL.M. in taxation from Georgetown University Law Center.
While in law school, he served as general litigation bureau intern for the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office. He was also a partner at Ernst & Young LLP from 2012 to 2014.
