Recommind Adds Analytics to eDiscovery Platform

The San Francisco-based company Recommind announced this week that it is integrating business analytics features into Axcelerate, its eDiscovery platform.

The enhancement enables drag-and-drop functionality on Axcelerate so users can quickly gain analytic information on project expenses, staffing levels, personnel performance, resource allocation and second-pass review. Users can build customized dashboards to better retrieve needed information for a historical or comparative review.

“Legal departments increasingly operate as business entities,” the company noted in a press release.

The new features come from QlikSense, a product developed through an OEM partnership with Qlik, a Swedish-based visualization software provider.

Dean Gonsowski, the global head of information governance for Recommind, said the new feature was driven largely by feedback from customers, who had tried to build offline spreadsheets or make cumbersome calculations in order to evaluate how the eDiscovery software was being used.

“People could do it but it was a lot more manual. Now, you have another piece of software that tells you how you are using the other piece of software,” said Gonsowski.

The feature is included in the latest version of Axcelerate, which is available as an On-Demand, On-Premise or Private Cloud/SaaS solution.
