Quinn Emanuel, Insurers Spar Over Interest on $92 Million Fee

Health insurers want Quinn Emanuel to disgorge the interest that would have been earned on a massive $185 million award that was slashed in half by a court last month.

The health insurers on Friday asked a judge in the U.S. Court of Federal Claims to force the firm to pay more than $21 million, which they say is how much interest the difference in the fee award, about $92 million, could have accrued since it was originally awarded in 2021. The fee was for recouping government payouts owed the insurers.
