Quinn Emanuel Adopts AI-Powered Tool to Predict Judicial Rulings

Quinn Emanuel is adopting a tech company’s tool designed to help the law firm predict how a judge will rule in litigation cases.

The ability to predict how a judge will act is “as critical as writing briefs” to litigators, said Dan Rabinowitz, chief executive officer of Pre/Dicta, the company that designed the artificial intelligence-powered software.

The tool discerns patterns in decision making by taking into account factors such as a judge’s age, gender, education and net worth, Rabinowitz said in an interview. These are “characteristics that make us unique as people,” he said.
