Jackson Financial Inc. named Carrie Chelko, currently the chief compliance officer at Fidelity Investments Inc., as its new executive vice president and general counsel.
Chelko, who starts her new job Aug. 30, will be based in Lansing, Mich. She also previously worked for Lincoln Financial Group.
Her “experience working closely with industry regulators will be critical to our success,” Jackson Financial CEO Laura Prieskorn said in a statement Monday.
“I am delighted to join the Jackson team at such a pivotal moment in the company’s history,” Chelko said in the statement.
In her previous job, where she also held the title of senior vice president, she led compliance for businesses within Fidelity Personal Investing. At Lincoln Financial she served as senior vice president and chief counsel for the company’s retail wealth management business.
Julia Goatley has been serving as Jackson Financial’s interim general counsel. She will return to retirement once Jackson Financial’s split from Prudential is complete Sept. 13, according to the statement.
“I would like to thank Julia for her important contributions during her more than 17 years at Jackson,” Prieskorn said.
