DiCello Levitt, a New York plaintiffs firm, is making a play in Las Vegas through an alliance with O’Reilly Law Group.
“If you were going to make a list of the most dynamic markets in the US, Las Vegas would be at the top of any list right now,” DiCello Levitt founder Adam Levitt said in an interview.
The move is the latest example of firms aligning without merging. It comes on the heels of Vaughan McLean’s alliance with Cohen Cunningham DeRose Higgins Lyon and Greenspoon Marder’s referral partnership with Davidoff Hutcher.
DiCello Levitt is known for working in multi-district litigation involving antitrust and consumer issues. O’Reilly Law is a four-attorney firm focusing on trust and estates and business formation.
O’Reilly Law Group has provided legal services in the city for half a century. John O’Reilly, its chairman and CEO, is a former chairman of the Nevada Gaming Commission.
“The O’Reilly name is such a strong name in Las Vegas, and we didn’t want a situation where we would subsume that name,” Levitt said.
Tim O’Reilly, president of O’Reilly Law, is serving as of counsel and managing the new office, firm leaders said. DiCello Levitt has one lawyer licensed to practice in Nevada and will encourage more of its lawyers to apply for admission.
