Jonathan Gaines joined Simpson Thacher & Bartlett as a partner in its registered funds practice, the firm announced Wednesday.
Gaines advises registered funds, boards and advisers on regulatory and corporate governance matters, the firm said.
He counsels clients on the launch and operation of alternative strategy investment funds such as BDCs, interval and registered funds launched by private equity sponsors, as well as in related merger and acquisitions deals, IPOs, and other capital raising transactions.
