Michael Kaufmann joined Greenberg Traurig as of counsel in its energy and natural resources practice in Washington, the firm announced Tuesday.
Kaufmann’s practice focuses on federal and state administrative and regulatory law, litigation, enforcement, appeals, policy, and infrastructure and project development in the energy sector, the firm said. He represents independent power producers, marketers, cooperatives, municipal utilities, and industrial energy consumers.
A former official with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, he joins from Reed Smith.
