Pillsbury Recruits IP Partner Gearing From Crowell & Moring

Brian Paul Gearing joined Pillsbury LLP as a partner in its intellectual property practice, the law firm announced Monday.

Gearing joins from Crowell & Moring, where he worked out of the firm’s Manhattan office. He will be assigned to three Pillsbury offices—New York, Washington, DC, and Tokyo—according to the firm.

Gearing advises clients on high-stakes IP disputes, providing strategic pre-litigation counseling and trial advocacy. He represents technology, telecommunications, life sciences and financial companies and maintains relationships across Asia, particularly in Japan where he practiced for three years, the firm said.
