Perkins Coie Changes Its Mind on Special Bonuses for Associates

December 27, 2024, 8:54 PM UTC

Perkins Coie is reversing course when it comes to special bonuses this year, and is now handing out extra cash to its associates after initially opting out when it announced its year-end bonuses earlier this month.

The Seattle-founded firm will now be giving its associates an extra $6,000 to $25,000 based on seniority, putting it in line with bonus scale set by Milbank LLP and followed by most Big Law firms.

“This decision is consistent with our commitment to paying market-competitive compensation and reflects the firm’s strong financial performance this year,” said a Perkins Coie spokesperson.

Perkins Coie and Hogan Lovells were two law firms that initially opted not to match the special bonuses, though the pair did match the year-end bonuses ranging from $20,000 to $115,000.
