Pearson Dodges Lawsuit Over Hack of Student Testing Platform

Pearson Plc dodged a lawsuit over a hack of its educational testing platform that exposed data on thousands of students.

Parents who brought the suit failed to show the 2018 hack hurt students, U.S. District Judge John Z. Lee said in dismissing the suit Tuesday in the Northern District of Illinois.

The Illinois and Colorado parents claimed in a class action that the company’s failure to thwart the hackers made students easier targets for identity thieves.
