- Paul Weiss is actively expanding its corporate practice
- It hired Jim Langston from Cleary Gottlieb in May
Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison welcomed Kirkland & Ellis M&A partner Chelsea Darnell to its corporate team in New York City, the firm announced Monday.
Darnell joined Kirkland in 2021 from Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz.
Her recent work includes guiding Eli Lilly and Company in its acquisition of Dice Therapeutics, Ping Identity in its sale to Thoma Bravo and Cvent Holding Corp. in its sale to Blackstone. Darnell has also advised Vista Equity Partners on take-privates of Model, Duck Creek, Knowbe4 and Citrix, and KKR & Co. in its take-privates of CIRCOR International and Chase Corporation.
“Chelsea is a superstar young public company M&A partner,” said Scott A. Barshay, chair of the Paul Weiss corporate team in a statement. “I have had the pleasure of working opposite Chelsea many times over the past few years, and I’m very happy we’ll be working together in the years ahead.”
Paul Weiss has been active in bulking up its corporate practice under Barshay. In May, the firm hired Jim Langston from Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton.
The firm also continues its London push and in January hired Dan Schuster-Woldan from Linklaters as head of European public M&A.
