Paul Weiss has hired a London Akin Gump partner to build out its restructuring team, the latest addition to the firm’s rapidly growing UK roster.
The firm has hired Liz Osborne to head its European restructuring group, it said Tuesday. Osborne leaves Akin after a decade at the firm, according to her LinkedIn profile.
“Liz is one of the leading restructuring partners in Europe and advises both companies and creditors on their most complex European restructuring and special situations investments,” Paul Basta, co-chair of Paul Weiss’s restructuring department, said in a statement.
Paul Weiss Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison is among the leading players in an intensifying recruiting war among elite US law firms in the UK.
The firm has been on a hiring tear since it snagged rainmaker Neel Sachdev and a team of Kirkland & Ellis partners last year. The firm now has more than 20 partners in London, after briefly dwindling to two last year.
