Paul Weiss’ creation of a non-equity partner tier is paying off with the hire of a corporate lawyer in Los Angeles from Latham & Watkins.

Michael Montgomery is one of a handful of members of the newly made non-equity partner tier at Paul Weiss, according to two people familiar with the move. His partner title comes with salary-based compensation instead of shares of firm profits.
