Paul Weiss Grows Houston Team With Kirkland, Latham Partners

Paul Weiss Rifkind Wharton & Garrison is accelerating its Houston build with the hire of two partners from Kirkland & Ellis and Latham & Watkins.

Aisha Lavinier of Kirkland and Jim Cole, former chair of Latham’s tax practice in Houston, join in the Paul Weiss corporate and tax departments, respectively.

Sean Wheeler, who heads the Houston office, emphasized in a statement “Aisha’s versatility in advising clients from a broad range of industries on transformative deals, and Jim’s breadth of experience advising energy clients through all the tax implications of their most important transactions, including on energy tax incentives.”
