Orrick Hires Weil Partner To Be M&A Head in Germany

Thomas Schmid, a leading partner in the Munich office of Weil, Gotshal & Manges, is joining Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe as head of the firm’s German M&A and Private Equity Group, Orrick announced on Wednesday.

At Weil, Schmid worked on a number of high-profile deals: he represented German biotech company MorphoSys in the acquisition of Dutch biopharmaceutical company Lanthio Pharma , and advised EQT Expansion Capital II Fund in its investment in UDG United Digital Group .
