Optiver Steps Toward AI, Crypto Startup Exposure with VC Stake

Optiver Holding BV has taken an equity stake in crypto and artificial intelligence-focused venture capital firm Eden Block, as the two technologies continue to attract institutional backing.

The Amsterdam-headquartered firm will use the investment to gain exposure to early-stage companies working in AI and digital assets, Michael Lepa, Optiver’s head of tech ecosystem and innovation, said in an interview. Both are technologies that could reshape the infrastructure underpinning trading and capital markets, he added.

The two companies did not disclose the size of the investment.
