O’Melveny Hires Two Cleary Gottlieb Trading and Markets Partners

James R. Burns and Brant K. Brown joined O’Melveny as financial services regulatory partners in the Washington, DC office, the firm announced Monday.

Burns and Brown have worked together for more than 20 years and have built a trading and markets practice, advising broker-dealers, exchanges, clearing agencies, private fund investment advisers, and other market participants. Burns has service in senior leadership roles at the US Securities and Exchange Commission, while Brown has service at the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, the firm said.

They join from Cleary Gottlieb.
