Nuclear technology company NuScale Power Corp. said Monday that it had appointed James Canafax as chief legal officer and corporate secretary, effective immediately.
Canafax previously served in leading legal roles at Maritime Partners LLC and BWX Technologies Inc. He has extensive experience with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, the Department of Energy, and Department of Defense. Canafax holds a law degree from Harvard Law School and has completed MIT’s Nuclear Reactor Technology Course for Executives.
He succeeds Shahram Ghasemian, who has resigned to pursue other opportunities, the company said.
