Galaxy Digital Inc., the cryptocurrency conglomerate founded and led by billionaire Michael Novogratz, has hired Matthew Friedrich as chief legal officer.
Friedrich, a former litigation partner at Boies Schiller Flexner and Freshfields, will report directly to Novogratz and lead global legal and compliance matters for Galaxy, it said late Monday. Galaxy completed a direct listing on the Nasdaq stock exchange in May. Friedrich’s portfolio includes corporate governance, litigation, public policy, and regulatory engagement. He’ll start on Sept. 8.
