A cultural heritage nonprofit backed off its emergency request for a federal judge to halt work on the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, now that the Trump administration’s project to change the color of the basin has been completed.
The Cultural Landscape Foundation and its founder, Charles Birnbaum, told the Washington federal trial court Wednesday it would withdraw its motion for emergency relief, citing a news report that the century-old reflecting pool had been refilled after its interior color was changed from gray to “American flag blue.”
