Non‑Equity Partners Cite Pay Gaps and Burnout in New Survey

Non-equity partners at law firms are less happy with their jobs than their colleagues with ownership stakes and are experiencing burnout at high rates as well. Satisfaction levels among associates aren’t better.

Those are some of the key findings of Bloomberg Law’s latest Attorney Workload & Hours Survey of 1,464 attorneys and legal professionals at firms and other organizations across the country.

Only about 40% of non-equity partners said they’re satisfied with their jobs, compared with nearly 60% of equity partners. Around a third of associates said they feel slightly or severely undervalued by their firms. Burnout is especially high ...
