News Corp. General Counsel Gets Contract Extension, Pay Boost

News Corp. extended the employment contract of general counsel David Pitofsky four years through June 2028, according to a proxy statement filed Wednesday.

The amended employment contract raises Pitofsky’s annual base salary to $1.4 million from $1.2 million while increasing his annual target bonus and long-term equity awards. News Corp. and Pitofsky didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment.

New York-based News Corp. hired Pitofsky, a former federal prosecutor and ex-partner at Goodwin Procter, as a deputy general counsel in 2013. The company promoted him two years later to legal and compliance chief, succeeding Gerson Zweifach, a fellow litigator ...
