The New York Times Co. has turned to attorneys at Williams & Connolly to fight President Donald Trump’s defamation suit against the newspaper.
Court documents show the Times hired Thomas Hentoff, the co-leader of Williams & Connolly’s trademark and copyright, and first amendment and media practice groups.
Trump is seeking $15 billion for damages, including those to his “one-of-a-kind, unprecedented personal brand,” the value of which which he estimates as more than $100 billion.
