Local governments in Nevada would have to collect lodging taxes from Airbnb and other short-term rental companies under a measure lawmakers passed late Monday.
- The measure (A.B. 363) would apply to counties with more than 700,000 residents and cities with populations over 25,000 in those counties starting July 1, 2022. It would add restrictions to how short-term rentals operate.
- Airbnb supports collecting hotel and lodging taxes and already has local tax collection agreements, a company representative said in written testimony. The company opposed location and permit limitations included in the original bill.
