Morrison & Foerster has opened an office in Austin, Texas with four partners, the firm announced Monday.
Brian Nash and Aaron Fountain join the intellectual property litigation group, and Steve Tyndall joins the corporate and emerging companies and venture capital groups, according to the statement.
Bradley Wine, the global co-chair of Morrison & Foerster’s litigation department, will relocate to Austin to be the office’s managing partner, the firm said.
Austin is the firm’s 17th office and its first in Texas, according to Morrison & Foerster.
The Austin office will initially focus on IP litigation and transactional matters as it prioritizes companies in the emerging growth, technology, life sciences and healthcare, the firm said.
“Austin is a key market for our corporate clients and there is no doubt the city will continue to attract the start-ups and venture capital funding in coming years,” said Eric McCrath, global co-chair of Morrison & Foerster’s corporate department.
