A rash of exits by prominent partners at Atlanta’s Morris Manning & Martin has rocked the firm, highlighting the challenges for midsize players in a rapidly growing legal industry.

The firm, known for its transactional work in tech and real estate, has taken a beating at the outset of this year. About 17% of its roughly 200 lawyers left over the last month, including seven lawyers who previously held practice group leadership roles, to join firms opening new offices in Atlanta.
