Moody’s Corp has chosen a successor to its veteran general counsel John Goggins III, who will retire as of Sept. 4, 2023 from within its ranks.
Richard Steele, who since 2008 has been general counsel for Moody’s affiliate Moody’s Analytics Inc, will replace Goggins, according to a July 28 securities filing by the financial services and data company.
Prior to joining Moody’s subsidiary KMW in 2006, Steele worked at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati and held senior legal roles at several companies in the financial technology, software, and venture capital space, according to Moody’s.
