Morrison & Foerster is advising SoftBank Group Corp.’s Latin America Fund on its leading of a $150 million Series C funding round for Nowports, an automated digital freight forwarder based in Monterey, Mexico.
The round values the three-year-old startup at $1.1 billion, making it the first “unicorn” in Monterey, according to a statement.
Nowports started operating in Brazil in December of 2021 and opened offices in Panama, Chile, and Colombia in the first quarter of 2022. It said it plans to use the new capital to expand to more cities in Latin America. It also plans to open offices elsewhere ...
