Mintz has opened a new office in Toronto, the firm said Monday.
The founding members are Michael Akkawi, Eric Foster, Mitch Frazer, Lee Johnson, and Cheryl Reicin, according to Mintz.
Akkawi, Frazer, and Reicin most recently respectively lead the private equity and fund formation, pensions and employment, and life sciences practices at Torys , according to the firm.
Foster joins from Dentons where he served as the head of the firm’s Canadian cannabis practice. Johnson joins from Wilson Sonsini with experience in life sciences patent prosecution, said Mintz.
