Microsoft Top Lawyer’s Pay Returns to Form After Brief Dip

Microsoft Corp‘s longtime top lawyer Bradford Smith saw his pay package rebound nearly 30% to more than $23.4 million in fiscal 2024, up from the $18.1 million he earned the year prior, according to a regulatory filing.

The total compensation for Smith is nearly the same as what he received in 2022, a year after the former Covington & Burling partner was named vice chairman of the Redmond, Washington-based technology titan. Smith, who is also president of Microsoft, continues to oversee the company’s corporate, external, and legal affairs function, a business unit known internally as CELA.
