Michigan State Wants Out of ‘Third Wave’ Nassar Sex Assault Suit

Michigan State University has moved to dismiss claims brought by a “third wave” of women allegedly sexually assaulted as minors by former U.S. gymnastics team doctor Larry Nassar while he worked at the school.

The school ended Nassar’s employment after the allegations became widely known in 2016, Michigan State said in a brief to the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Michigan Monday.

It settled the “first wave” of litigation, which began in November 2016, and has settled most of the cases brought as part of a “second wave” filed in mid-2018, Michigan State said.
