Meta Platforms Taps Microsoft’s Mahoney as Its Next Top Lawyer

Meta Platforms Inc. has recruited former Trump administration official Curtis “C.J.” Mahoney to be its new legal leader, succeeding chief legal officer Jennifer Newstead as she prepares to take a similar role at Apple Inc.

Mahoney heads to Meta from Microsoft Corp., which hired him as a deputy general counsel in 2021. He most recently was a general counsel at Microsoft, where Mahoney was promoted last year to oversee product and services legal at the technology company.
