Meta Platforms Gets Joint Dismissal in Wiretapping Class Suit

Meta Platforms will no longer face a proposed class action from users who alleged the social media company tracked their video viewing habits across the internet in violation of California privacy law.

The three internet users sought to dismiss their complaint without prejudice from the US District Court for the Northern District of California after initially convincing a federal magistrate judge to allow some claims under the California Invasion of Privacy Act to proceed.
