Mercedes-Benz Group AG is exploring a potential sale of its Athlon car-leasing business amid a broader review of its sprawling operations, according to people familiar with the matter.

The luxury-car maker has approached potential buyers to gauge their interest in a deal, the people said, asking not to be identified because the information is private.

Deliberations are at an early stage and there’s no certainty they will lead to a transaction, the people said. A representative for Mercedes declined to comment.
