Texas trial lawyer Mike McKool is leaving his namesake firm to represent an unidentified client, both sides said Thursday.
McKool and his former law firm—McKool Smith—declined to identify the client behind the split, saying only that it posed a “conflict.” They described as amicable McKool’s exit from the firm he co-founded in Dallas more than 30 years ago.
“I tried every which way to make it work,” McKool said in an interview. “It was just something that I could not pursue at the firm.”
