Live Nation Nears DOJ Settlement That Avoids Ticketmaster Sale

Live Nation Entertainment Inc. is close to settling a federal antitrust lawsuit accusing the company of illegally monopolizing the live music industry that would stop short of a divestiture of the company’s Ticketmaster subsidiary, according to people with knowledge of the matter.

The settlement discussions have intensified since a trial kicked off March 2 and a final agreement could be announced in the coming days, said the people, who asked not to be named discussing confidential matters. The exact timing is still in flux, the people said.
