Lewis Roca Rothgerber, a 250-lawyer full service law firm, has acquired the smaller 40-lawyer Southern California intellectual property boutique Christie, Parker & Hale, the firms announced on Monday.
The new firm will staff nearly 300 lawyers and be called Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie, with a focus on advising clients on IP matters.
In a press release, the firm said that its IP attorneys cover all aspects of IP procurement, enforcement and defense, including patents trademarks, trade secrets and Internet law and domain disputes.
Lewis Roca was created following the 2013 combination of Lewis & Roca LLP, a Southwest law firm with offices in Phoenix, Tuscon, Las Vegas, Reno, Albuquerque and Silicon Valley, and Rothgerber Johnson & Lyons, which had offices in Denver and Colorado Springs. The firm grossed $122.5 million in 2014, according to The American Lawyer, which reported on the transaction on Monday .
Christie Parker, the Southern California IP boutique, was founded in 1954 and has offices in Los Angeles and Irvine. The firm’s clients include the Los Angeles Dodgers, Oakley, Inc. and The Neiman Marcus Group.
Besides IP, Lewis Roca also staffs lawyers specializing in other areas including gaming law, real estate, insurance, banking and natural resources.
