Lewis Brisbois Reaches Settlement in Ex-Partner’s Bias Suit (1)

Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith has reached a settlement with a former partner suing the embattled law firm for discrimination.

Robert Lofton, a California labor & employment attorney, accused the firm of “a campaign of harassment, discrimination and retaliation against him” after he experienced complications from a December 2022 medical procedure. He said in a March complaint that medical issues repeatedly landed him in the emergency room in the following months.

Lofton disclosed the settlement in a Tuesday filing in California Superior Court, Los Angeles County. The terms of the deal have not been made public.
