A Texas judge ordered a legal recruiter to pay about $825,000 on top of $3.6 million he already must shell out for stealing Big Law clients after leaving a firm.
US District Court Judge Robert Pitman in Austin, Texas found Tuesday that Evan Jowers owed his former firm, MWK Recruiting, the added amount because pre-judgment interest needed to be added. Pitman ruled in September that Jowers committed a breach of contract and misappropriation of trade secrets.
