Lazarus Naturals to Pay $300,000 to Settle Data Breach Suit

CBD-oil seller Lazarus Naturals will pay $300,000 to settle a class action alleging it negligently failed to protect the personal information of more than 42,000 people that was exposed in a 2023 data breach.

Each member of the settlement class will be entitle to a payment of up to $5,000 in reimbursement for documented out-of-pocket losses, or a pro-rata cash payment from the net settlement fund, according to the plaintiffs’ motion for final approval of the deal. Judge Jolie A. Russo of the US District Court for the District of Oregon granted the motion Thursday.
