Latham & Watkins advised London-based investment firm Centricus on its acquisition of a majority stake in SK Global Entertainment, the independent film and television production and finance company behind the film“Crazy Rich Asians,” the law firm said.
Eisner said it served as lead counsel to SK Global.
The deal with Centricus will provide SK Global with more capital to expand its business by acquiring other companies and intellectual property, increasing its roster of content, according to a statement.
No financial details were provided for the transaction. Entertainment publication Deadline, citing an unnamed source, said Centricus’ investment was in the “low-to-mid nine figures.”
Latham said it represented Centricus in the transaction with an entertainment, sports and media team led by London partner Libby Savill and an M&A team led by Century City partner David Zaheer, among others.
Eisner’s deal team was not immediately available.
