Douglas Heitner has joined Latham & Watkins as a partner in its real estate practice in New York, the firm said Monday.
Heitner advises clients on joint ventures, financings, investment sales and acquisitions, as well as secondary market debt acquisitions and dispositions, according to the firm.
Most recently, he worked as chief legal officer at the New York-based real estate investment trust Safehold, formerly known as iStar, where he handled legal matters that included asset-level work, securities, and capital markets, the firm said.
