Jamie Sprayregen, the Kirkland & Ellis partner credited with founding its renowned restructuring practice, is leaving the law firm after more than three decades.
Sprayregen is joining financial advisory firm Hilco Global as a vice chairman, the company said in a statement.
Sprayregen founded the restructuring practice in 1990 and turned Kirkland into the preeminent firm for distressed companies seeking Chapter 11 protection. He served on the firm’s top leadership committee until 2019.
He left the firm in 2006 to serve as co-head of Goldman Sachs’ restructuring group, staying about three years before returning to Kirkland.
