Kirkland & Ellis Welcomes FTC Antitrust Veteran Stephen Mohr

Kirkland & Ellis brings aboard Stephen Mohr, a nearly 15-year veteran of the Federal Trade Commission, as a partner in its antitrust practice in Washington D.C.

Mohr most recently served as assistant director in the FTC’s Bureau of Competition, leading its division overseeing merger investigations.

Big Law firms have been bulking up their antitrust practices as the FTC and the Department of Justice pursue more challenges to major mergers.

Weil Gotshal in September hired Mark Seidman, who spent 18 years as an FTC lawyer. Milbank in June hired James Weingarten, formerly chief trial counsel for the FTC’s Bureau of Competition. ...
