Kirkland & Ellis advised Apax Partners on an agreement by its affiliated funds to buy CI Capital Partners portfolio company SavATree.
Paul, Weiss advised SavATree, a provider of tree, shrub and lawn care services, on the transaction. No financial terms were disclosed, according to a statement. The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter.
SavATree was founded in 1978 with the sole objective of saving trees from damage caused by the gypsy moth caterpillar, according to its website. With headquarters in Bedford Hills, N.Y., the company has since added lawn care, deer deterrence, tick management, and holiday lighting to its services.
The company has residential and commercial customers in 27 states across 58 branches.
“We’ve built SavATree into a company that people trust and rely upon across the U.S.,” said Daniel van Starrenburg, executive chairman of SavATree. “Apax has the experience and know-how to help us achieve our ambitious, global growth plans while staying true to our customer-centric, environmentally responsible approach.”
