Kirkland & Ellis is advising EQT AB on the Sweden-headquartered private equity firm’s agreement to acquire pan-Asian buyout firm Baring Private Equity Asia.
Paul Weiss, Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, and Sweden-based law firm Mannheimer Swartling are advising Hong Kong-based Baring and its CEO Jean Eric Salata, according to a statement.
EQT is paying 6.8 billion euros ($7.5 billion), which includes 191.2 million new ordinary EQT shares valued at 5.3 billion euros ($5.8 billion), plus 1.5 billion euros in cash, according to a statement.
